Mumbai turned in a strong all-round show to defeat Mohali by four wickets at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
Shaun Marsh announced his return with a fluent 53 at the top of the visitors' order, the only bright spot in another dismal batting card as Mahali were bowled out for 163.
Lasith Malinga (four for 22) and Zaheer Khan (three for 34) shared seven wickets.
Opener Shikhar Dhawan then made 50 and Saurabh Tiwary chipped in with a valuable 31 under pressure as Mumbai secured victory in the final over, their sixth win in seven matches.
Lasith Malinga was adjudged as the Man of the Match for picking 4 wickets for just 22 runs from his four overs.
