Finaly Kolkota Wins After 3 succesive Loss
Manoj Tiwary and captain Sourav Ganguly's half-centuries helped Kolkata ease to a 39-run win over IPL strugglers Mohali.
Kolkata's first win in four means they join three other teams on six points - one victory behind top-of-the-table Mumbai - while Mohali are cast adrift at the bottom.
Brett Lee, playing his first competitive match since last year, was unlucky to concede 15 runs - and four byes - in his first over, as Chris Gayle got Kolkata off to a flier after Ganguly won the toss.
Kolkata beat Mohali by 39 runs to get promoted to 5th spot in the points table. Mohali failed to get over the initial setback after losing Bopara with the 1st legitimate ball of the innings. They have only themselves to blame as most of the batsmen threw their wickets away after getting their eye in.
Sangakkara was the top scorer with 30 runs off 27 balls, but even he succumbed under pressure. Kolkata maintained pressure throughout the innings with some disciplined bowling and fantastic fielding, especially in the deep.
Bond bowled brilliantly and ended with 2 wickets for 24 runs in his 4 overs. Agarkar, in his first game of the season, provided good support and scalped 2 wickets for 32 runs in his full quota.
