Robin Uthappa made a fine half-century as Bangalore secured a 36-run home victory over Chennai to go to the top of the IPL table.Bangalore , who had won their previous three games chasing totals, were this time invited to bat first and made stuttering progress until Uthappa provided a late flourish which helped them finish with a solid 171 for five.
Medium-pacer Vinay Kumar's four-wicket haul was the highlight of a strong performance from Bangalore in the field as Chennai managed 135 for seven to crash to their third straight defeat.Bangalore lost batting mainstay Jacques Kallis (19) early and the rest of the top order struggled to cope on a surface that had offered plenty of bounce and carry.
Robin Uthappa, deservedly, bagged the Man of the Match award.
